چکیده

In small and medium size power systems, of about 100-600 MW, network frequency variations could take place causing wind parks disconnection from the grid, in case of a non suitable setting of the frequency protection devices. In this paper, the setting of such frequency protection devices, associated to the interconnecting transmission line between the wind park and the grid, is studied for a base network representing the power systems of Canary Islands (100-600 MW), using dynamic analysis as the main tool.

DFIG Based Wind Turbines Behavior Improvement during Wind Variations using Fractional Order Control Systems

This paper is concerned with behavior analysis and improvement of wind turbines with Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) when using a new fractional-order control strategy during wind variations. A doubly fed induction generator, two types of variable frequency power electronic converters and two input wind waveforms are considered. A fractional-order control strategy is proposed for the wind...

A robust engineering approach for wind turbine blade profile aeroelastic computation

Wind turbines are important devices that extract clean energy from wind flow. The efficiency of wind turbines should be examined under various working conditions in order to estimate off-design performance. Numerous aerodynamic and structural research works have been carried out to compute aeroelastic effects on wind turbines. Most of them suffer from either the simplicity of the modelling appr...

Evaluation of Turbulence on the Dynamics of Monopile Offshore Wind Turbine under the Wave and Wind Excitations

In recent years, the use of offshore wind turbines has been considered on the agenda of the countries which have a significant maritime boundary due to more speed and stability of wind at sea. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of wind turbulence on the aero-hydrodynamic behavior of offshore wind turbines with a monopile platform. Since in the sea, the wind turbine structures ar...

Coordinated Control of Doubley Fed Induction Generator Virtual Inertia and Power System Oscillation Damping Using Fuzzy Logic

Doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind turbines with traditional maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control provide no inertia response under system frequency events. Recently, the DFIG wind turbines have been equipped with virtual inertia controller (VIC) for supporting power system frequency stability. However, the conventional VICs with fixed gain have negative effects on inter-ar...
